That moment on Christmas Eve when "all is calm, all is bright" and the atmosphere is pregnant with hope, finds its antithesis on Holy Saturday, when a cloud of despair seems to envelope the world. Though we live in the awareness that this is not the end, it reminds us that it once seemed that way. And so we take nothing for granted. Everything is a gift. God's grace reigns supreme, as was so gloriously demonstrated on that first Easter. May those who dwell in darkness today, perceive the peep of dawn and know that their suffering will not endure...
